Quick Chess Tournament
You and your team are cordially invited to participate in
the 4th Annual Comet Quick Chess Tournament which will be played on
Saturday, November 15th, 2003. The tournament will feature
both Varsity and JV Sections, with the Varsity Section being run as a
Team Swiss event, and the JV Section as a 6 Round Swiss System
individual event. Each school will be allowed 5 varsity players and an
unlimited number of JV players. Team scores in the JV Section will be
determined by adding the top 5 individual scores. Note: This is NOT a
USCF event. Varsity Rounds and time control may be adjusted depending on
the number of teams
Time Control: All games will be G25
Scoring: 1 Point per win, ½ Point per Draw, 0 points for
a loss.

9:00 Round One
10:00 Round Two
11:00 Round Three
1:00 Round Four
2:00 Round Five
3:00 Round Six
4:00 Awards Presentation
Note, if all players conclude a round early, we may start
the next round early by mutual agreement.
Awards
1st-3rd Place Team Trophies in both
Varsity and JV Sections
1st-5th Place Individual Trophies
in JV Section.
1st and 2nd place Board Trophies
for Varsity.
Note: These are the minimum prizes, if we
have enough entries we will have more trophies.
Entry Fee
$30 per school, payable with entry form
Miscellaneous
Each team should try and bring enough boards and clocks
for its players. We will have a few spares, but bring extras if you have
them. We will have food and beverage vending machines, and possibly a
concession stand.. There are also plenty of fast food restaurants and
pizza delivery within a 5 minute drive.
