2003 Green Bay Chess Club Championship

Eligibility:

The 3rd Annual Green Bay Chess Club Championship is open to all Green Bay Chess Club members.

Format:

The Club Championship will be held in 2 stages - the Preliminary Tournament and the Club Championship Finals. The top 6 from the Preliminary Tournament qualify for the Club Championship Finals--which will be a round robin event to be held at a later date.

Playing Site:

The playing site is the DePere Community Center, located at 600 Grant Street on the west side of De Pere (see Map below). Please note that No Smoking or Alcohol is allowed in the Community Center.

Schedule:

The Club Championship Preliminary Tournament will be a 3 round Swiss, played at a time control of game in 90 minutes. Round Times are scheduled for 10:00 am, 1:30 & 5:00 pm. In case of ties for the final spots for the Championship round, the tied players with the lowest scores wil1 play 10-minute games until the field has been narrowed to 6.

Entry Fee:

$7.00. Depending on whether or not all preliminary entrants are USCF members, the Preliminary Tournament, may or may not be USCF rated. The Finals will definitely be rated.

Registration:

Advance registration preferred. Late registrations will be accepted at the playing site from 9:00-9:30 am.

Awards:

The winner of the Finals will be named our Club Champion, and have his/her name engraved on the Ludwig Trophy. The winner will automatically qualify, for the Club Championship Finals for next year, along with the Top 5 from that Preliminary Tournament.
