There were 9 participants at
the 2nd Annual Brown County High School Chess
Championship held at Preble High School. Entries were from Preble,
GB East, and East De Pere.
After
4 rounds of game-in-30 Swiss, there was a four-way tie between Elmer
Briones (East), Andrew Marker (Preble), Andrew Miller (Preble), and AJ
Stumbras (Preble), all with 3.0 points. We conducted a round-robin
blitz tie-break with the foursome which yielded Elmer as this year's
Champion. The remaining three had to again play a tie-break to
determine place finishes.
